For this shoot I contacted a model through a family friend which I felt had the perfect features for this look. The concept behind this shoot was high fashion editorial. I really wanted to create a flush of bright colours, for a dramatic effect along with catwalk style slick back hair.

This look was a fun shoot to do especially since I set up my own studio with a backdrop attached to my living room valance rail with Velcro and also used two soft boxes on each side with a stool in the middle so the model could sit on . The look took me two hours to create including a 10 minute set up for the studio set up .

The inspiration behind this shoot was by photographer Alex Malikov. Using similar tones I was able to create a similar photographic effect.

Alex Malikov’s work really inspired me for this futuristic editorial shoot with Demay, therefore wanted to incorporate this futuristic style into my work. I feel I played it a bit too safe though as I could have experimented better with the hair and also the background lighting. I feel I could have experimented with some coloured gels in order to gain that galactic so impact that is shown in Alex Malikov’s work. Having a technical oomph in my work will allow me to have a professional standard in my work when it comes to photography. Since I had to do this shoot at home as I was struggling with finding models I was able to try out some photography as well as makeup.

My plan of action is to become better photography skilled for future shoots as well as being more creative with angles and technical versatility.
