The Florist shoot

For this shoot I financially shared the money with two other makeup artists in order to hire the venue. I also created a Facebook advert on a modelling page so I could network with models and photographers for the shoot. The advertisement gained a good response from models and photographers interested in attending the shoot. I selected the models I felt would fit best for the shoot and my portfolio and created a group chat.

The group chat consisted of detailed and moodboards of how the shoot would go down. Unfortunately the night before the shoot everyone cancelled which was frustrating since I paid to be at the venue. I had to think fast and spoke to another model to see if they could fill in at least for the day. I was able to get something out of the shoot but not the best since I had only one model to work on. These are a few images from the last minute models shoot.

For this shoot I struggled with keeping my models on track with participating for the shoot therefore had to include an alternative model for my shoot. Financially the cost of my original models not turning up was very expensive as I had 5 hours wasted as I could only do limited things with only one model.

Including an alternative model I was able to showcase an editorial twist in my work and that was showing a diverse perspective of the industry and that was alternative sizes/ appearance creative an inclusive ethos to my portfolio that current editorial brands are in agreement of. I feel this shoot turned out better than I expected as I was able to include an alternative model in my work which will add a diverse range of faces in my overall portfolio. I feel for this shoot I was able to get more artistic angles and technical support from photographers that arrived at the shoot which is a positive.

My plan of action from this shoot forward is to be more confident in what work I produce and to be able to have more control of what poses of outfit choices I would like in my portfolio.
