For this shoot I wanted to work with a red background as I felt that working with a primary colour was a good choice for editorial fashion photography. I used Georgina again for a second shoot that I did in the same day as the shoot with the yellow backdrop. For this one I used another primary colour on the models face which blue so there was a harmony between colours. I used the same set up of a halo light behind the model as well as a reflector and a soft box. I wanted the model to smile as I wanted the shoot to be more relaxed like a commercial shoot.
I wanted to make the skin to glow under the soft box so the editing would be easier to do at post production. Using a red backdrop was a good choice as the images turned out really well. Since this shoot was a commercial style shoot I wanted the colours of the models clothes to compliment her eyeshadow. I feel there is a good balance overall in the images making them pleasing to the eye. When editing the picture I didn’t have to do much other than spit treatment in certain areas and also clean up any wispy bits of hair.

For the overall shoot I’m really satisfied with how everything went especially since I was able to be independent with editing the photos and not relying on anyone else for time management. Having a different backdrop for this look in relation to the previous shoot, I feel adds a nice transition as I was trying to emulate what industry standard Ecom shoots would look like.
Being able to showcase my editorial skills I feel created a strong cohesion with my hair and makeup skill set. Working with one of my tutors to photograph my work I was able to gain some professional shots that are strong. I’m really pleased with the technical side of this shoot as we fitted a light behind the model to create a half hair light effect bringing out my hair styling better.
