For this shoot I wanted to experiment with airbrushing and applied Postiche. I really enjoyed this shoot as I got the luxury of working 7 hours in the studio with two models creating a variety of looks. I wanted to really push myself, especially since we had good photographers in the studio to work along side with, my makeup work had to be seamless. I thoroughly enjoyed airbrushing on Jess and Kieran, it was a fun project. I brought a variety of styled wigs that I styled post photoshoot to go with some ideas I had in mind but didn’t fix too 100% as I wanted to collaborate with the photographers more on shoot.
Creating a strong look really worked out in the end especially as the photographers had something to include into their portfolios as well as they told me they loved how creative the shoot was. Working with pre styled wigs was a challenge as I had to re style some small sections to compliment the models facial structure better. Having soap and towels came in handy to re do other looks in a quick fashion.

Do to the recent corona virus COVID-19 outbreak I was lucky enough to have 2 models show up to the shoot out of originally 5 who cancelled because of self isolation. I really enjoyed this shoot as I was able to have the creative freedom to do what I wanted and with a fantastic response from the photographers who really enjoyed taking picture of the looks. During the shoot I was able to choose the backdrop as the photographers had full reliability about my artistic choices. Styling the wigs was so much fun to see them come to life in this creative editorial project.
I really wanted to emulate Illamasqua and how they have no apologies for creating powerful creative shoots of their makeup looks. My dream is to one day be able to be part of an illamasqua shoot especially since the creative freedom is unlimited with such rewarding pictures. Creating a group chat after finding my models from a photography group I was able to discuss different ideas and concepts with the models. Unfortunately a lot cancelled so I had to work with 2 but I feel I created some interesting shots out of it especially working with primary and complimentary colours.

My overall response for this shoot is that it went as I wanted it to. Being able to create some elaborate club kid looks allowed me to showcase my love for brands such as Illamasqua and MAC Cosmetics. My wig styling and airbrush makeup fits nicely into the threats and Film industry I want to try out in the future. Having my portfolio development as an ongoing journey has allowed me to unleash my creative capabilities and show my individualism. The nice thing about this shoot is that all photographers wanted to photograph my work for their own portfolios. The ethos of Alex box is my inspiration for a lot of my work and that is to create a bold statement in a smart and effective way. Creating some intentional designs for my portfolio allows me to showcase my Level 5 skill set and enthusiasm for the industries I’d like to be apart of. I feel I was able to achieve this especially with this shoot as I showcase artistic and technical skills all thorough out the 3 looks I did at this shoot.
