For this shoot I organised to collaborate with 2 models from Manchester models a portraiture photographer and a bridal clothes shop . I wanted to expand my portfolio with not just fashion makeup but also Bridal makeup. I found the overall experience interesting as I had to learn bridal boho hairstyles so the bridal shoot was current (not to say period themed weddings arenas still in style). For bridal shoot me and 2 other MUA’s hired The Florist Liverpool again because of how beautiful the location was. I had to gain details of measurement from my models so my classmate could pass on the measurements to the bridal dress shop.
On the day day of the shoot, I communicated with other photographers and also the bridal shop about the briefing of how we wanted the models to pose to show off their best angles and also the dresses. I kept the makeup semi coverage with glowing skin and smokey neutral eyes. Communication with the models was kept all through the shoot so I knew they were comfortable with their makeup and what we could change etc.

For this shoot I was really worried about people turning up because of my previous experience at The Florist Liverpool, however my 2 models and photographer turned up which was a massive relief including the bridal business that were able to come an hour into the shoot. I really enjoyed the shoot as I was able to build connections with other photographers and models at the shoot meaning good contacts for future shoots. I also included a model release form for the models to sign which made the shoot more reliable for publishing purposes. Because of the location the photographers were able to set up their equipment with ease meaning good quality pictures to show off my makeup for my portfolio. I was able to take control of the composition in the photographs as I felt at first the photographers where taking the same generic shots for everyone involved at the photoshoot. Understanding the competitive nature of the makeup industry I felt I had to showcase my hair and makeup skills for this bridal editorial shoot.
